Who knew that a small hamburger joint in Lincoln Square could be one of the best date spots in Chicago?

Welcome to Jury’s!

My dining partner and I stumbled upon Jury’s while researching popular outdoor restaurants and cheap burger deals online. Luckily, we found that Jury’s offers half-priced burgers on Wednesdays – not exactly dollar burgers, but still enticing enough for us to pay a visit on a warm spring evening.

Jury’s looks small and fairly unimpressive inside, so it’s imperative that you visit on a warm day and secure an outdoor table. This is no upscale al fresco dining, but the outdoor seating is homely and has a certain romantic charm with its white linen cloths, surrounding brick buildings and tall evening lamps. Oh-so quaint!

And the burgers, mmm. Definitely some of the BEST I’ve had in the city. I went for the classic Bacon Cheeseburger (always my favorite) and my boyfriend went for “The Judge”, Jury’s signature burger topped with bacon and sliced avocado. The burgers did not disappoint and accompanied with giant-sized onion rings and some cold beer, it was the perfect all-American meal. The burgers were indulgent, but we still managed to chow em’ down without feeling TOO nauseous aftewards…always a good sign!

The menu is pretty extensive and includes appetizers, pastas, steaks and sandwiches, so it’s unfair to call this place just a ‘hamburger joint’. While it’s most reputed for its burgers, I’d definitely come back to check out some of Jury’s other entrees.

Love this casual, yet elegant date spot.
